The research paper entitled "Project Poseidon: An Internet-Of-Things Enabled Air, Water Quality Monitor and Waste Collector Unmanned Watercraft Vehicle" bagged the 1st Place award as the Best Paper in their category during the 3rd Research Summit 2018 held last March 9, 2018 at U.P, Film Center, U.P. Campus, Diliman, Quezon City.

The paper was chosen as the Computer Science Department's official entry for Poster and Oral Presentation submitted by Dean Manuel Luis C. Delos Santos to the summit.

The research aims to develop an Unmanned Watercraft Vehicle (UAV) which has the capability of cleaning polluted rivers by collecting garbage and it is equipped with sensors which monitors the level of air and water pollution along the rivers. The analytics are send over the internet through a cloud server to help local government executives in the decision making process.

The team is composed of BSCS graduating students namely, Ricardo A. Osit Jr., Johnny N. Montero, Khendrick B. Nisola, Lovelyn Grace S. Lebrado and Jewellyn E. Sambayan.

This is the second time AICS won the same award during Y4IT 2nd Research Summit for the paper entitled "Project Icarus: An Android-Based Search and Rescue Eye in the Sky" held last year 2017 in the same venue.
